Pickup the cake from the bottom and not the sides of the cake box (nor handles) to prevent from dropping or damaging the cake. Clear vehicle space of loose objects that could fall or roll into the cake. Place on the front floor board of an air conditioned vehicle. Drive carefully and avoid sudden turns and stops.
Leave the cake in the box and refrigerate. Only take it out to display 1-2 hours prior to serving. Cake should always be placed on a sturdy surface/table. Should you decide to have it on a cake stand and make sure it is at least an inch larger than the diameter of the cake board and can hold the weight of your cake.
Cakes are best serve at room temperature. Remove all decorations and cake toppers prior to cutting. Store leftovers in an airtight container to freeze or refrigerate.
Here's another clever way to cut your cake to yield maximum number of servings. This is my regular 6" cake which normally serves approximately 12 cutting it like a pie. The way it is cut in this video, however will almost double that amount.
